Eva Ryynänen (1915-2001) was a woodcarver who lived in her farm-studio 30 km south of Lieksa. Her wooden sculptures are inspired by Finnish nature. Most of them are about children, nature and its animals or the daily work on the farm. His most famous work is the chapel of silence made of logs and glass that you can see here. A beautiful visit, a little out of the way, which requires the car.
