PALACIO DE JUSTICIA
This Palace of Justice, located north of Plaza Bolivar, houses the Supreme Court and the Council of State
North of Plaza Bolivar, the Palace of Justice, which houses the Supreme Court and the Council of State, is a massive building facing the Capitol. Its rectangular columns and its strict air respond well to the classicism of its opposite. The Palace of Justice was rebuilt in 1988, after its destruction in 1985 by the army, following the capture of the palace by a commando of the M19 guerrilla group. The government did not hesitate to send tanks to eliminate the guerrillas and cause the death of some of their hostages (111 people lost their lives).
