MUSEO DE LA SAL
Museum allowing to better understand the historical and cultural context of the mine with models
In a beautiful colonial house overlooking the main square, the visit of the Salt Museum complements well the visit of the mine. The museum is not very big and the visit does not last more than fifteen minutes, but it allows to understand better the historical and cultural context of the mine with models. It is advisable to visit it before going to the mine, located a few minutes away on foot. You will discover how salt was exploited in pre-Columbian times, the influence of salt in the Muisca culture, and the circulation of salt in colonial times.
