CASA DEL FUNDADOR SUAREZ RENDÓN
Museum located in Tunja, with armor and furniture of the period, with beautiful mythological frescoes decorating the ceilings
Facing Plaza Bolívar, this large house built in 1540, where the conquistador Gonzalo Suárez Randón, founder of La Tunja, lived, is a beautiful example of Mudejar art. It has been converted into a museum and contains period armor and furniture, as well as paintings by thirteen presidents from the department of Boyacá. Beautiful mythological frescoes decorate the ceilings. The building also houses the city's tourist information office.
