Located 20 minutes by car from Villa de Leyva, this isolated monastery was built in 1620 by Dominican monks. It has a remarkable golden altar and an altarpiece dedicated to Saint Bartholomew. The interior patio is surrounded by beautiful columned arcades, and many plants grow in a carefully tended mess. The floor is paved with fossil stones. The monastery displays religious objects and paintings relating to the arrival of the friars in the region.
