CASA MUSEO ANTONIO NARIÑO
Museum retracing the history of the independence heroes, and the place translating the declaration of the rights of man and citizen
The house where one of the most important figures in the history of Colombian independence ended his days. Journalist, politician and military man, Antonio Nariño (1765-1823) started the fight for emancipation early, translating in 1793 the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen from French into Spanish, for which he was imprisoned and driven into exile. The museum traces the history of this pro-independence hero, future vice president of Gran Colombia (1821).
