PLAZA MAYOR
The largest square in Colombia, paved with large irregular stones and surrounded by magnificent colonial houses with arches
As beautiful by day as by night, the largest square in Colombia (14,400 m²) is paved with large irregular stones and surrounded by magnificent colonial houses with arcades, occupied by cafés and hotels. The whole city is built around the square, whose accesses are forbidden to the traffic. In the center, a fountain where the inhabitants came to get supplies. The square has always been the epicenter of the city's political and cultural events. The whole area is very photogenic, with the Nuestra Señora del Rosario church and the black mountain in the background.
