IGLESIA DE SANTO DOMINGO
This church with its ochre façade, located in the very touristy Santo Domingo square, is the oldest in the city
In the very touristy square of Santo Domingo is this church with an ochre facade, whose bell tower seems to have been unfortunatly moved to the right. Legend has it that God blew on this bell tower in anger against a priest of the parish. This is the oldest church in the city (1569). The figure of Christ is carved in the wood of the baroque altar. Outside, in front of the church, stands a less pious sculpture: the Gorda Gertrudis, with generous forms dear to Fernando Botero, given to the city by the artist.
