This building, dating from 1776, is one of the most beautiful examples of colonial architecture
Wide patios and a baroque façade make this 1776 building one of the finest examples of colonial architecture. The Tribunal of the Inquisition operated from 1610 until Colombia's independence. It was here that offenders against the Christian faith were sentenced. The museum features a torture chamber, symbolic objects from the colonial era and the struggle for independence, and the various stages in the founding of the city of Cartagena.
