El Rascacielos (The Skyscraper), as it was once called, was a rather clean building, before it fell into disrepair and became a boarding house for women of little virtue... It was there that a certain Gabriel García Márquez stayed for a few months in the early 1950s, when he was still a young journalist for El Heraldo. In this hotel-museum, decorated with photos and furniture of the time, the rooms are small but comfortable, the patio is pleasant and the atmosphere is family. To stay in Gabo's room, ask for 204!
