These wild and little tourist beaches located 25 km north-east of Riohacha, is an excellent spot for kitesurfing

Mayapo means "soft white sand" in Wayuunaiki. These wild and not very touristy beaches are located 25 km northeast of Riohacha (30 minutes drive). There are a few traditional cabañas and places to eat and drink fresh fish with your feet in the sand and beautiful sunsets. The beach is an excellent spot for kitesurfing. The agency Kite Addict Colombia (www.kiteboardingcolombia.com) is based in Mayapo, where they organize courses and workshops for all levels, sometimes combined with yoga.
