Pasillo is a folk musical style and dance that can be found in several Latin American countries, especially in Ecuador and Colombia. The National Pasillo Festival was founded in 1990 to pay tribute to Gonzalo, Héctor and Pacho Hernández, three brothers born at the beginning of the 20th century in Aguadas, who formed the musical trio that popularized Colombian pasillo on a national and international level. The festival programme includes parades and competitions for composers, performers and dancers.
