PLAZA BOLÍVAR & CATEDRAL DE PEREIRA
Bolívar Square, a copper statue, over the cathedral of neoclassical style, the statue and the cathedral are located in Pereira
In the Bolívar square, an unusual statue: the Bolívar Desnudo, work of Rodrigo Arenas Betancour. This 14-ton copper statue, erected in 1963 for the city's centennial, represents Bolívar naked on horseback. Overlooking the square, the cathedral, of neoclassical style. Dating from the end of the 19th century, it is built on the site of a much older church (1540). Its interior is interesting with notably a dome supported by 13 503 beams in precious wood(aniba perutilis).
