COMPLEJO RELIGIOSO LA MERCED
This colonial church with whitewashed walls is the oldest church in Cali
Nuestra Señora de la Merced is the oldest church in Cali (1545). This colonial church with whitewashed walls is part of a complex composed of two chapels, a convent and a museum of religious art that preserves sacred objects from the 16th and 17th centuries. Inside the temple there is a baroque altar full of gilding, surmounted by a statue of the Virgen de las Mercedes (17th century). Next to it is an archaeological museum with pre-Columbian ceramics from the southwest of the country.
