La Ermita is considered one of the most beautiful Gothic churches in Cali and Colombia. Inspired by the cathedral of Ulm in Germany, it was inaugurated in 1942 to replace a very simple colonial church, which collapsed after an earthquake in 1925. It is the city's true coat of arms, and inside it is the marble effigy of the " Señor de la Caña ", which survived the earthquakes of 1887 and 1925. The church is located at the northern end of the Bulevar del Río. The night illumination is successful.
