A complex of religious buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries that includes the Convento de San Joaquín, the Capilla de la Inmaculada and the Iglesia de San Francisco, a neoclassical brick building with a Spanish Renaissance altar. The most interesting building is the Torre Mudéjar, a 23 meter high brick tower that is a magnificent example of Mudéjar art, one of the most beautiful in South America. San Francisco Square has become one of the main meeting points of the Caleños.
