This bridge with four arches is one of the symbols of the city and is part of the national architectural heritage. It was the first bridge built over the River Cali, between 1835 and 1845. The work of the Franciscan friar Jose Ignacio Ortiz, to replace an old bridge in guadua. It was modified several times over time to adapt to urban development and the arrival of the automobile. In 1986, it became a pedestrian bridge again, connecting the Bulevar del Río to the city center, at the Parque de los Poetas. It offers a nice view of the church of La Ermita.
