HACIENDA EL PARAÍSO
House-museum surrounded by a beautiful garden offering a romantic journey into the daily life of the writer Jorge Isaacs
This beautiful house-museum surrounded by a magnificent garden was built between 1816 and 1828. Its visit offers a romantic journey into the daily life of the writer Jorge Isaacs (1837-1895), known for his novel María (1867). This classic of Colombian literature tells a tragic autobiographical love story (the author lived in this house). The visit is guided, but it is ideal to have read the book or seen the movie before... Afterwards, you can go for a horseback ride in the 127 hahacienda. Lodging is possible at the hotel Piedemonte.
