IGLESIA LA ERMITA
Church, the oldest in the city, with a very simple structure, with an ornamental painting on the ceiling and an altar
It is the oldest church in the city. It was built by the first settlers in the early years of the city's foundation (although officially it dates from 1617), to bring the Catholic faith to the Indians. The temple has withstood the various earthquakes despite its very simple structure. Its facade and its roof have nevertheless undergone some modifications with time. The interior is colorful, with notably a beautiful ornamental painting on the ceiling. Beautiful altar and sculpture of " Señor de la Caña" (the master of the sugar cane).
