Museum with a vast collection of ancient objects of the region and presenting all the richness of the crafts of Pasto
The Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions of Nariño is housed in a magnificent 17th century house (1623), which is said to be the oldest in Pasto. It was declared a national monument in 1971 and converted into a museum in 1989, after an extensive restoration work. The museum has an extensive collection of antique objects from the region and shows the richness of the craftsmanship of Pasto and its region, known for its great finesse, with works made from fique, wood(mopa mopa), leather and wool, among others.
