The village church, the templo doctrinero, dating from the 17th century and inspired by traditional indigenous architecture with a straw roof, was the subject of an arson attack in March 2013, which largely destroyed it. The chapel reopened to the community on November 30, 2018.

The church in itself is rather sorry state to be worth with it. On the other hand the mountains surrounding the village offers a unique atmosphere, you will feel very small.
