WHITE FIELD JAZZ FESTIVAL

The 16th White Field Jazz Festival opened last night in Bijelo Polje. Over the past fifteen years, this jazz festival has shown how it is possible to recognize the greatness of other musical genres in a landscape that has always been characterized by a particular richness of colors and sounds of popular music, said Vatroslav Belan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture and Media. The festival has expanded its programming from jazz to rock and pop, and has also offered debates, exhibitions and book promotions, mainly aimed at young people and generations stylistically close to these musical genres. Over the fifteen years of the festival's existence, jazz fans have had the opportunity to hear not only renowned jazz and bluesmen, but also many important pop and rock artists from the former Yugoslavia. The festival has helped to enhance the cultural and tourist offer of Bijelo Polje, the region and the country.
