DUOMO SAN CORRADO
Romanesque cathedral in front of the port, dedicated to San Corrado
Dating from the 12th century, in Romanesque style with Arabic influences, the cathedral of Molfetta is dedicated to San Corrado, patron saint of the city. Located at the far end of the old town, opposite the port, where ships once plied the Adriatic and the Mediterranean, it is a remarkable example of Apulian Romanesque architecture. One of the characteristics of the cathedral is its twin high belfries: the one on the sea side was used as a belfry, while the one on the city side was used as a religious belfry.
