BASILICA DEL SANTO SEPOLCRO
Religious building transformed into Gothic style in the century under the Anjou family, and housing relics from Palestine.
One of the most important religious buildings in the city. Erected in the 12th century and transformed into the Gothic style in the 13th century under the Anjou family, this basilica was visited by pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land. It was administered by the knights of the Order of Malta for several centuries. The three-aisled interior covered with groin vaults has fragments of frescoes from the 13th and 14th centuries. Relics from Palestine are kept here.
