ARCO DI TRAIANO
Imposing Roman arch dated from the first half of the II century in Canosa di Puglia.
In the direction of Cerignola, along the homonymous street that follows the ancient route of the Via Traiana, you can admire some historical treasures, starting with this imposing Roman arch dating from the first half of the second century. It is a massive brick construction that was originally covered with marble and whose total height was thirteen meters. Along the Via Cerignola, you can see the ruins of several Roman mausoleums (Barbarossa, Bagnoli) and a Roman bridge with five arches crossing the Ofanto river.
