Church built on a site where other churches had succeeded each other in Locorotondo.

You can taste the special atmosphere of this town along the via Bruno and via Morelli, as far as via Aprile, the old main street of the medieval village. At the end of the street, the Largo Bellavista allows you to enjoy the panorama of the Itria Valley. The chiesa Matrice di San Giorgio is the monumental building of the town. This church was built between 1790 and 1825 on a site where other churches from the 12th to the 15th century were built. Other religious buildings (Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, Church of Santa Maria della Greca) are worthy of attention.

un charme fou

Non loin d'Alberobello, Locorotondo sera vous ravir, ici c'est plus calme, les trullis vous les verrez du belvédère du parc de la ville. Les ruelles et petites places foisonnent en ce lieu, c'est charmant, propre et rénové. De très belles maisons, des façades photogéniques, une atmosphère de village! On s'y sent bien. Quelques églises et vous avez tout pour votre balade!

Une pause dans la région des vins

Notre visite de Locorotondo fut brève mais elle en valait le détour. Le centre historique possède un certain charme: son église et sa place méritent que l'on s'y arrête un instant. Il y a également un point de vue intéressant sur toute la vallée d'Itrie. Nous nous y sommes arrêtés car nous avions réserver une dégustation de vins de la région au vignoble I Pastini, situé à 10 minutes de Locorotondo et Martina Franca. Une excellente activité à faire dans la région !
