CERAMIC MUSEUM
Museum offering a very interesting overview of the ceramic craft in Grottaglie
The museum, housed in the former stables of the bishop's castle, an imposing 14th century fortress, offers a very interesting insight into the craft of ceramics. The archaeological section includes pieces found on the site of Masseria Vicentino (4th-3rd centuries BC). The room dedicated to majolica displays a wide variety of plates and jugs for water and wine from the 17th to the 20th century. It is worth noting the ingenuity of some of the containers and the refinement of the vases with double ribbon handles.
