MUSEO ARCHEOLOGICO "FRANCESCO RIBEZZO"
Museum presenting a restored statue of the consul Lucio Paolo and that of a Roman citizen
Unjustly ignored by tourists, this archaeological museum exhibits various objects of beautiful workmanship: ceramics of Apulian production or imported from Greece, statues with beautiful draperies, Greek and Latin inscriptions... An interesting section is dedicated to underwater archaeology and presents superb ancient bronzes found off the coast of Brindisi. Among these, the statue of the Roman consul Lucius Aemilius Paullus, winner of the Macedonians in 168 BC, stands out.
