Cathedral in the shape of a Greek cross with an imposing baroque façade.
Built on the foundations of an Angevin church, the cathedral, in the shape of a Greek cross, has an imposing baroque façade on which stand out the statues of St Peter and St Paul. Its dome, covered with polychrome glazed tiles, is the highest in Salento. In the sacristy there are some precious inlaid stalls dating back to the XVIII century. Not to be missed is the Chapel of the Madonna della Fontana, which displays the icon discovered by Philip of Anjou, said to be the origin of the foundation of Francavilla Fontana.
