DOLMEN DI MONTALBANO
Dolmen made of two limestone slabs, a structure dating back to the Bronze Age
The dolmen of Montalbano consists of two enormous slabs of limestone placed vertically and supporting a third slab that acts as a roof. This structure dates back to the Bronze Age, around 2000-1500 B.C., and is lost among the pine and olive trees. Its function must have been funerary, and it was previously preceded by a dromos, an access corridor, lined with stones. It is about fifteen kilometres from Fasano, following the SS16 and then the SP10 in the direction of the sea. Quite well signposted.
