Also known as the Fiera di Santa Lucia, the Lecce Santons Fair honours its craft tradition: that of cartapesta (papier-mâché), a technique that has been perpetuated for centuries in the city's workshops. The event brings together exhibitors who offer their papier-mâché creations intended to brighten up Christmas cribs: religious figures, but also popular characters (washerwomen, bakers, innkeepers...).
