CIMITERO
Cemetery with rows of cypress trees and grandiose grave monuments
The cemetery of Lecce is certainly worth a visit, with its rows of cypress trees and its grandiose funerary monuments in various architectural styles. The entrance is quite surprising, with its majestic gate and green borders; it seems as if you are entering an urban park. Some of the family vaults in the old cemetery are reminiscent of Baroque chapels, while the more recent ones, with their geometric shapes, give the place the air of a residential area. Both the tenor Tito Schipa and the poet Vittorio Bodini were buried here.
