PALAZZO DEL SEDILE
Imposing structure of square plan widely opened on the outside by ogival arches
The Palazzo del Sedile, or Palazzo del Seggio, was built in 1592 at the behest of Pietro Mocenigo, the first municipal magistrate of the time. It is an imposing structure with a square floor plan that is widely open to the outside through ogival arches, now glazed. The building is carved with reliefs above the arches, and crowned by a refined loggia in Renaissance style. The Sedile was the seat of the town hall until 1851. Next to the church of San Marco, it is a beautiful building that has been converted into a tourist information point and a cultural space.
