DIOCESAN MUSEUM
Diocesan museum located in the former palace of a Spanish noble family
Housed in the Palazzo Lopez, the former palace of a Spanish noble family, the diocesan museum has three levels of collections of sculptures, paintings and liturgical facings dating from the 16th to 18th centuries, from the cathedral and various parish churches in the area. Among the items on display are a baptismal font from the workshop of the great Salentine sculptor Gabriele Riccardi (16th century) and Roman mosaics from the 4th-5th centuries that have been discovered under the pavement of the Cathedral of Otranto.
