ZINZULUSA GROTTO
One of the most interesting sea caves in the region, with a specific fauna
"La perla delle grotte", as it is called here, is a karstic cave, discovered in 1793, which owes its name to the stalactites and stalagmites that look like zinzuli ("hanging rags", in Salentine dialect). It is one of the most interesting sea caves in the region. Dug at the foot of a rock face, at water level, it shelters a specific fauna (especially small crustaceans). It is accessible either by sea, via a boat excursion, or by land, by descending a staircase and then following footbridges.
