SANT'AGATA CATTEDRALE
Very beautiful example of baroque architecture, cathedral housing relics of San Fausto.
Built between 1629 and 1696, this imposing cathedral is a beautiful example of Baroque architecture. It has a charged facade in a chiselled style reminiscent of that of Lecce (the upper part of this facade was made by Giuseppe Zimbalo, one of the masters of the Leccese Baroque). Inside you can admire a rich collection of paintings by Salento artists of the XVII and XVIII centuries, including the painter Giovanni Andrea Coppola, native of Gallipoli. The cathedral also houses relics, including those of San Fausto.
