DIOCESAN MUSEUM
Baroque diocesan museum built by Bishops Branconi and Savastano
The Diocesan Museum, which opened in 2004, occupies the building that housed the former seminary, close to the Cathedral of Saint Agatha. A baroque building built in the 1750s by Bishops Branconi and Savastano, it remained in use for two centuries. The collection includes the treasure of the cathedral and that of other churches and convents of the diocese. On display are silver reliquaries, chalices, a panorama of local painting from the 16th to the 18th century, sculptures in papier-mâché, etc. Don't miss the panoramic terrace on the third floor.
