CASTELLO DI FULCIGNANO
Castle built under the Swabian and Angevin rule, with an interesting garden.
Located in the southern outskirts of Galatone, the castle of Fulcignano was built under the Swabian and Angevin domination. The ruins of this feudal castle are worth a visit, especially as they are located in a very pleasant bucolic place. The irregular quadrilateral shape is surprising. The castle also has an interesting garden, surrounded by ancient ramparts eight metres high enclosing an area 75 metres long and 49 metres wide. It is now maintained by the municipality, which has owned it since 2011.
