Museum of Biology with a collection of about 900 species in the Villa Lucisani
Within the Villa Lucisani, the Museum of Marine Biology exhibits a collection of about 900 species, with reconstructions of marine biotopes. It displays most of the fish specimens found in the Ionian Sea, but also species living in tropical seas, from the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. The shell of a large Caretta caretta turtle, the caudal vertebrae of a sperm whale, specimens of monstrous abyssal fish, various marine molluscs, crustaceans and sponges can also be seen.
