Historical center located in the lower part of the village of Mattinata.
The historical centre is in the lower part of the village, called Junno. Take the opportunity to stroll through the narrow streets of this area with its mysterious atmosphere. Here you will find various typical constructions called "pagghiere" (straw millstones), which date back to the middle of the 18th century. These are made of limestone stones embedded one on top of the other. Further on, in Via di Vittorio, there is the Museo Civico Archeologico, where the objects found in the tombs of the Daunian necropolis of Monte Saraceno are kept.
