An unusual setting for a meal at the water's edge, a trabucco where fishing nets are cut out against the sea in the background. The Ottaviano family, owners of the trabucco for five generations, concocts traditional or more innovative recipes with the fish caught in the fishing nets and the vegetables from the Peschici vegetable garden. Very pleasant also for the aperitivo, with a glass of Apulian wine accompanied by some seafood. Live jazz sessions in summer. This small refuge, once a secret place, is now known by many tourists.

Al trabucco da Mimì più che un posto in cui mangiare io la definirei una vera e propria esperienza culinaria, dove la magia del posto e l'atmosfera unica si uniscono in perfetta sintonia alla qualità del cibo. i piatti sono presentati in maniera impeccabile, oltre che belli da vedere vi sorprenderanno per gli accostamenti e per il gusto innovativo.
vi consiglio di provare il menù degustazione con più portate così da apprezzare al meglio la cucina e le proposte variegate dello chef.

davvero buoni anche i drink e i vini. ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. i tempi per le prenotazioni sono un pó lunghi, quindi vi consiglio di prenotare con largo anticipo, ma ne vale assolutamente la pena. noi ci ritorneremo senza dubbio.

Highlights: the location and the restaurant decor. Friendly surfer dude who showed us to our table.
Lowlights: the food. Overrated and overpriced. Baitfish/whitebait appetiser was easily the best thing we had - and we didn't order it. Crab pasta terribly disappointing and daughter's pasta essentially unappetizing. Wife's fish served with a sauce better suited to a lamb roast.
The house wine was, fortunately, pretty drinkable.
