CATTEDRALE SAN NICOLA
Cathedral in Piazza Raffaele Capone, facing a breathtaking panorama in Muro Lucano.
It is located in Piazza Raffaele Capone, facing a breathtaking panorama. The construction of the cathedral dates back to the 10th century and, like the castle, it was heavily damaged by various earthquakes, the last of which occurred in 1980. It has since been restored. It houses two interesting works of art, the Madonna del Rosario and the Battesimo di Cristo. The cathedral is dominated by the medieval castle (its foundation is said to predate the Norman period), which was also extensively restored after the 1980 earthquake.
