CALANCHI LUCANI
Calanques located in Lucani to discover a surprising scenery of steep hills: a natural phenomenon due to soil erosion.
The Lucanian creeks form a surprising decor of steep, white and arid hills with deep vertical folds evoking complicated draperies. This natural phenomenon is due to the erosion of the soil, composed of layers of sand and clay. It is near Aliano that the creeks are the most spectacular. South of the town, the Strada del Parco dei Calanchi Lucani is a panoramic road that connects the SS 598 and the SP Aliano-Alianello, crossing these impressive formations. Be careful, the road is in bad condition and deformed in places.
