Hotel Sassi is not quite like the others. Mr. Cristallo will inform you from the outset that he was the first to build a hotel in the Sassi and will be happy to explain how; a former engineer, he was a witness and actor in the history of the city. The spirit of the troglodytic houses has been preserved with simplicity. The rooms, well equipped, have all those wonderful vaults that make them so singular. Some of them are partly dug into the rock, others offer a spectacular view of the sassi and the Duomo.
