A small independent information center located in the main square at the entrance to the historic center of Matera

Located in the main square at the entrance to the historic centre of Matera, there is a small independent information centre with maps, brochures and the possibility of booking one of the guided tours on offer, such as a "classic" walking tour of the sassi, an excursion to the Murgia materana park to discover its rock churches, or a visit to the original Peccato crypt ("of original sin"), nicknamed the "Sistine Chapel of the Rock Churches". Possibility to book a guided tour of the sassi on board a vintage scooter, called Ape.

Un passage dans le temps avec les ''Sassi''
Dans les Pouilles, un détour incontournable par Matera pour voir les Sassi et le parc des églises rupestres. Ces habitations troglodytiques sont réhabilitées depuis quelques années; certaines sont même aménagées comme à l'époque et le visiteur peut se faire une idée de la vie dans ces petites maisons creusées dans la roche. Puis il faut aller marcher dans le Parc des églises rupestres; un service d'autobus local vous propose un aller-retour pour quelques euros. De nombreux chauffeurs vous proposent aussi de vous y amener avec un guide. Ça vaut vraiment le détour.
