DUOMO
Church with some beautiful works of art from the Roman period
Of very ancient foundation, the cathedral was rebuilt in its present form after the earthquake of 1184 and consecrated in the presence of Frederick II. Behind its pink sandstone façade, opened by three Gothic portals and three rosettes, the church houses some beautiful works of art, including the Gothic tomb of Isabella of Aragon (13th century) and a marble sarcophagus from the Roman period decorated with bas-reliefs depicting griffins and the myth of Meleagre. It seems to have been used as a burial place for Henry II of Swabia, son of Frederick II.
