Traditional costumes, working tools, women's looms and some old photos will inform you about the habits and customs of the Albanians settled in the region. The Albanians of Calabria are, in fact, the most important Albanian linguistic and cultural enclave in Italy. They have kept their dialect and their orthodox confession. In fact, the entire Pollino region is home to villages belonging to these minorities. In the early Middle Ages, the Albanians had indeed found refuge in these mountains to escape the Turkish invasions.
