Beautiful site with a lighthouse, a small white church and a museum next to the archaeological park,
The most eastern point of Calabria was, in the antiquity, dominated by the temple of Hera Lacinia, the major sanctuary of Magna Grecia. Today only a part of the terraces and a solitary Doric column (out of the 48 that the building counted) remain. Not much to see, therefore, except the beauty of the site, which also includes a lighthouse and a small white church. Next to the archaeological park, a museum exhibits material found on the spot and in the sea bed, including a Roman ship with its cargo of semi-worked marble.
