The site of the ancient Crimissa sanctuary dedicated to Apollo Alaios was identified in 1924 by the archaeologist Paolo Orsi. Of the Doric temple dedicated to the divinity, whose construction dates back to the second half of the 6th century BC, very little remains: foundations and the bases of columns. These remains are, however, the occasion for a nice walk near Punta Alice. The excavations have revealed some interesting pieces, including fragments of a marble statue, now preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria.
