CHIESA SAN BIAGIO
Church with marble statues and a wooden pulpit of the Scaramuzzino
The church, also called chiesa Matrice, dates back to 1795. Its rich interior houses 17th century marble statues from the Carthusian monastery, two of which were made by the German sculptor David Müller (1611). Also noteworthy is the wooden pulpit of the Scaramuzzino, dating from the 18th century. Nearby, the Church of the Addolorata has a beautiful convex baroque façade and preserves a precious polychrome marble ciborium, decorated with gilded bronze statues by Cosimo Fanzago (1631). It was originally intended for the Carthusian monastery.
